Mountains

I am placed on the mountain.
No difficulty, no climb.
Merely placed.

Seemingly with the purpose of a glimpse from above.
To see things from a distance… from a different perspective.

I see the cars glide by.
Going at high speeds, yet still rushing.
The river crashes at high speeds.
Yet from above, merely glimmers as it flows.
People run along the green landscape.
Insignificantly small, yet only from above.

Each life has a million things, a million problems.
The world moves around them rather than them around the world.
They run.

What seems so far… yet in reality such a short distance achieved.
A cacophony of noises heard from all around.
Cars, boats, people…
Birds, wind, water…
Chaos.
Peace.

I sit up on this rock… above the world.
Eagles pass with ease, gliding at eye-level.
Watching.
Perhaps pondering the same as I.
They glide above the chaos.
The things we normally find so significant and large in our lives are really so small and insignificant.

Amongst the chaos, few is still.

Beautiful.
Strong.
Great.
Majestic.
Mountains.

               They stay situated.
Planted strong.

Never moving
Yet seeming as if they take over.
